You couldnt ask anymore from a Super Bowl than this game!  The Jaguars go on to defeat the Redskins by a final score of 20-17.  Redskins finished the season with 11 straight wins (including playoffs) before this loss.  The Jacksonville offense was just too explosive in the first half, jumping out to a 17-0 lead with 2 touchdown tosses from Grbac.  The Redskin offense just couldnt find their rhythym in the first half, never crossing midfield.  In the second the Skins noname defense silenced the Jaguars highpowered offense holding them to just 3 points.  In the overall game the Jags were held suprisingly to just 289 yards total offense and 13 first downs.  The Skins cut the lead to 17-7  in the 3rd quarter with a td strike from Garcia to Carswell and later in the 4th Garcia and Carswell hooked up yet again to cut the score down to 20-17.  Then the drama started...The Redskins got the ball with under 4 minutes left in the game on their own 8 yard line.  It started with 5 straight run plays by James Stewart moving them out to their own 38 yard line.  Then Garcia went to work moving the Skins within striking distance but the offensive line let them down getting called for several untimely holding penalties keeping the Skins from reaching field goal range.  The Jaguars defense did the job as well as Super Bowl MVP Robert Smith, who rushed for 80yards and caught 6 passes for 74 yards.  Jeff Garcia was also brilliant, finishing the game with 114 qb rating and 2 tds.  Congrats to Coach Murrell on the opening AFL Super Bowl victory as well as Coach Hunter for a great season!!!
