Bengals Coach Al Michaels took over the failing Bengals squad and has won all 7 games he's coached.  He's done it with a highpowered offense featuring stud wideouts David Boston and Derrick Mason.  Boston finished the season with 94 catches and 1592 yards with 13 tds.  Curtis Martin also finished in double digits in tds with 10 and racking up 1600 yards on the ground.  If the team has a weakness its the defense but they are a big play defense.  Bronson has 7 ints returning 3 of them for scores.  The Raiders snuck into the playoffs with a 4 game winning streak of their own and a last second touchdown catch of Joe Horn who finished the season with 13 to go with his 85 catches.  The wideouts and Culpepper have been the only consistent thing the Raiders have had all season on offense.  The defense seems to make important stops all season   The defense is lead by Kearse, Ray Lewis and Patrick Surtain.

This is a great matchup.  The 2 teams split the regular season games.  The Giants are lead by maybe the best defense in the league and a ball control offense.  Stephen Davis is the cornerstone of the O and finished with just under 2000 yards for the season and had 14 tds.  Barber picked off 9 passes and Douglas collected 9 sacks, but the defenses main gun is Barrow who was a terror in the middle.  The Skins coach Kalec did one of the best coaching jobs of the season, taking a team that was thought to be on the decline and go 12-4 in the leagues toughest division.  Last years MVP Jeff Garcia is up for the award yet again with a 94.6 rating and 32 touchdowns.  Garcia must carry the team with an undermanned defense, a runningback by committee and a group of overachieving wideouts.  Coach Kalec has found a way all season so there is no reason he cant do it in the playoffs as well.

This game should be great as well.  The Patriots only won 1 of their last 5 games but have the talent to return to their 8-1 starting form.  Brett Favre was an early canidate for league mvp and still could be in the running with a good showing in the playoffs.  He finished with 26td and 9 ints, all 9 coming in the last 6 games of the season.  Ricky Williams will need to be a big part of the offense for the Pats to go deep into the playoffs.   These 2 teams are probably the best 2 ball control teams in the league, the edge though goes to the Chiefs.  Nobody controls the clock like they do with their run attack.  They do a runningback by committee but with thier o-line it doesnt seem to matter who runs the ball.  Steve McNair has has an awesome season as well throwing only 3 interceptions on the season.  The defenses are also very even, Kerney had 10 sacks on the season for the chiefs and Glover-Pryce combo had 17 combined for the Pats.  Both have a db with 9 picks as well.  The chiefs with d o'neal and the pats with Henry.

vs.

Yet another intriguing game!!  Ever matchup seems to have its own story.  Raiders-Bengals both teams ending the season on a hot streak to make the playoffs.  Giants awesome D vs. the Redskins offensive team led by Garcia.  Chiefs and the Patriots superior ball control going against each other.  Well this game features 2 teams that overachieved big time the whole year and only expect to be better next season.  The Rams did it with an awesome offense (which like i said only gets better next season).  Their pass attack is nothing short of phenominal ecspecially since its led by Alex Van Pelt.   The Lions have one with big play after big play.  Simeon Rice getting 12 sacks, Abraham 9 picks, O Smith returing 3 picks for tds.  They will have to slow down this offense though and Troy Brown who ended up with 102 catches and 9 tds.

Action Football League Poll
Should AFL be a pay league? Advantages would be keeping teams committed instead of dropping out for no reason. Only be 5/10$ per team and all the money would go back into the league at seasons end to the Superbowl participants.
